Everyone has a role to play -
With your support and that of others in the community, Born in Bradford will form one of the world's biggest studies into why our children fall ill. Everyone in the city has a role to play in this research - by pinpointing the causes of disease, we will have the key to improving the health of Bradford people. And by learning from their experience we can pass on our findings to help others across the country, and around the world.

Born in Bradford will provide a legacy for the city, benefiting the health and wellbeing of everyone for generations to come.

December 2010 - recruitment finished - total 13,500 Bradford babies!

“Bradford's infant mortality rate is amongst the highest in the country."

Sadly some Born in Bradford babies die during the pregnancy, during the first year of the child’s life or later on. When this happens we send our condolences to the family concerned.  We do not wish to add to a family’s distress so after the letter of condolence we do not send any more Born in Bradford communications unless the family request to continue receiving the newsletter.

Those families who suffer in this way also have the choice to withdraw from the study completely and to have destroyed any information or biological samples they have given to Born in Bradford, or to leave that information and those samples so that they are still participating.
